Cookie policy

Ontu uses as few cookies as possible: one to keep you signed in, a few for security, and none for advertising.

1.What cookies are

Cookies are small text files stored by your browser. Similar technologies include local storage. We use them sparingly and explain each kind below.

2.Strictly necessary cookies

  • ontu_session — keeps you signed in. It is HttpOnly (not readable by scripts), SameSite=Lax, sent only over HTTPS in production and expires after 30 days of inactivity.
  • Security and load-balancing cookies set by our infrastructure, where needed to protect and deliver the Service.

These are required for Ontu to work and can't be switched off in our settings.

3.Preferences

We store small preferences in your browser, such as your chosen light or dark theme. These never leave your device.

4.Analytics on published pages

To show page owners how their page performs, Ontu records views and clicks on published pages. We count unique visitors without advertising cookies and exclude known bots. We do not use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

5.Third-party content

If a page owner embeds content such as a YouTube video, Spotify player or booking widget, that provider may set its own cookies when you interact with it. Their policies apply to those cookies.

6.Payments

When you check out, Razorpay or Stripe may set cookies needed for secure payment and fraud prevention, under their own policies.

7.How to control cookies

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block the session cookie, you won't be able to sign in. For more on how we handle personal data, see our Privacy Policy.
