How Ontu analytics work
What we count as a view, a unique visitor, a click and a conversion, and what we don't collect.
Updated
Ontu analytics are designed to be useful without tracking people.
- View: a page load from a real browser. Known bots and crawlers are excluded, and repeat views by the same visitor within 30 minutes count once.
- Unique visitor: a visitor counted once per day. We calculate an anonymous daily identifier from a secret key, the date, the visitor's network address and browser. It changes every day and can't be reversed. We don't set cookies or store IP addresses.
- Click: a click on a tracked link, button, social icon or booking block.
- Lead: a submitted enquiry form. Conversion rate is leads divided by views.
If a visitor's browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control, we still count the view but don't calculate a visitor identifier for them.
Plans. Free plans show the last 30 days. Paid plans keep longer history and add referrers, devices and countries. Countries come from our network provider's location header, at country level only.
